The renewal of the Church will come from a new type of monasticism which only has in common with the old an uncompromising allegiance to the Sermon on the Mount. It is high time men and women banded together to do this. Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Around the world, often forming out of prayer rooms or local expressions of prayer, 24-7 has seen a number of Communities established. Our first opened in Reading, UK in October 2001, and many more have been established since.
The full story of our journey has been published in the book ‘Punk Monk’. You can find out more and listen to a review by clicking on the book on the right.

Establishing a community may sound like a long and complicated journey, and it is certainly a challenging and life-changing one. As more communities have begun, we've found a simple process emerges (which we've called 'The 4 Rs': Rooms, Rhythm, Relationship and Resource).
Over time, we've found that God often begins to connect Relationships, which is the forming point of community. 24-7 is about Christ-centred communities, where he is our focus, and where people commit to each other with Christ in the centre.
They could be living together in a community house, in a local area or nieghbourhood, or spread out across a large city. These relationships are the seedbed for long term development and growth. When these communities develop a level of maturity, we commission them as 'Boiler Rooms'. There are commissioned Boiler Rooms in places as far flung as Guildford (UK), Kansas City (USA) and Skopje (Macedonia). You can find a full list of our Boiler Rooms and more information below.
Some communities develop to a point where they can Resource other communities, perhaps planting new communities, or training and developing leaders. We call these Boiler Room Centres.
