Convicts Catch Vision to Pray

Published: March 11th, 2009

Each week 24-7 receives encouraging emails from around the world from people learning to pray by praying.  This week the below email jumped out at us and we just had to share it...

"I read about 24-7 Prayer in the February 09 edition of Relevant magazine, and have been moved to incorporate 24-7 Prayer here at Autry State Prison, Pelham, Georgia, USA." Writes Andrew Boram.  "I’ve got up to ten more years in Prison and am sold out for God and for him reaching these lost and crying souls in prison.  Thus far, God has used me to minister through worship as I am the praise and worship leader at this camp.  So far I’ve got our praise team praying in time slots to cover as much of the day as possible and I am trying to sell the idea to the Chaplain and administration.   It is difficult as most of the prison population is Muslim.  But we are still praying!  Please would you post this as a prayer in your rooms, and tell people that they can send prayer requests to us and we will pray for them.

Today I’ve finished reading Red Moon Rising and the Vision and the Vow.  Wow – it’s left me speechless and very moved.  Prayer is definitely the fuel of God’s fire.

I’d also like to present the idea of incorporating 24-7 in prisons worldwide.  Prison is and awesome harvest field and what else have we got to fill our time but prayer!  Our prison houses approximately 1,700 inmates and I know God could move mountains for those imprisoned worldwide through radical prison prayer warriors.  I want to thank the 24-7 crew for your love of God in this radically changing world."

If you have a prayer request that you would like Andrew and his friends to lift to God in prison, please send it to 24-7 USA who will forward it for you.  Please note that you should not send the requests direct to the Prison, as they will probably not get through to Andrew.  If you are interested in supporting the development of 24-7 Prayer in prisons, please email Brian Heasley.
